moloss Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 Ok I've asked about tunes in the past but have not had a chance to get anything done towards the end of the year.....well now it's Jan and the 1000's of family things that happen during Dec are done....anyhow just as an overall value I'm leaning towards a Wait4Me tune.....how happy are you guys with your Wait4Me tune? I was going to send them my pcm (I think that's what it's called) so I don't have to have anyone local reflash it (or whatever it's called)....anyone send off their pcm? what kind of turn around time?.....lastly any problems? thanks for ya'lls help.
Guest chevydeerhunter Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I bought a PCM from Jesse so that my truck wouldn't be out of commission. Also, if I need to go to the dealer for anything since mine is still under warranty, I just swap out the new one for the original one so that they can't say I tampered with it in any way. I got the fuel economy tune, but I think I'm going to send mine back and have Jesse program it to haul a&@ and reprogram the speedo to compensate for new tires. I think it's the best money you can spend on a performance tune.

zippy Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 how was his customer service? is his driveability much better than stock???
Buggle_96 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I should be getting mine sometime this week. I ordered the performance tune for better fuel economy and well...performance. And also had it setup so that when I select tow/haul it should tow better than with the factory tow haul configuration. You can either have them do 2 things with the tow/haul button from what I understand, either a haul ass program which explains itself or like what I did and set it up for better towing. I will let you all know how it goes.

They said If i got the performance/race tune with the tow/haul ass mode to not tow in anything except the regular mode.(non tow/haul) I could of just misunderstood it but maybe they keep torque management activated so you dont tear things up while towing, and with the haul ass selection torque management is removed...? Heck I dunno lol just a guess.
fox_forma Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 i highly rocommend Jesse, just give him a ring and explain what you want and he will set it up for your driving style
smooth68 Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 I've had mine for about 6 months and still love it! Very different truck with the tune.
3500in nc Posted January 4, 2006 Posted January 4, 2006 i gotta say 2thumbs up to jessie had mine for a while now and no problems plus hardly ever a need to downshift im glad that i was such a beleaver when he was just starting out proves me rite every time i start my truck
rfingtrk00 Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 I have had mine for a little over a month put a 5,000 mile trip on the tune very nice. Passing was no problem and the kills I had on the trip put a smile on my face every time. I called him and talked on what I wanted great guy never rushed to hang up and got my new PCM in about a week kept my old one. Got the performance tune with the haul a## mode. he meshed all my mods to work as one. and my shift kit now shifts the way it should not clumsy. Haul a## button holds the rpms more and he said thier is more the to the button then just trans shift. Very happy want to drive a new beast get the tune
Crabhart5.3 Posted January 19, 2006 Posted January 19, 2006 I know so little about these things it's sad. I assume all of you are still running 87? What mods do i need to take advantage of this? All i have now is a very free flowing catback. Would i need a shift kit or an aftermarket stall to take advantage of the tune? I'd hate to order something only to find i could have so much more were i to mod some more. And what's up with the "haul ass" button? I need some edumacation on this subject, because it sounds very appealing.
Fishpilot Posted January 20, 2006 Posted January 20, 2006 The "Haul Ass" button is the tow/haul button on the automatic tranny shifter. I still think this only works for non-allison transmissions. It can be tuned to hold lower gears longer and shift later for better acceleration. I'msaving my pennies right now for a tuned PCM.
Bigmike875 Posted April 26, 2007 Posted April 26, 2007 IM EXPECTING MINE ANY DAY NOW, I GOT THE STRAIGHT PREFORMANCE TUNE, NO ECONOMY, IM VERY ANXIOUS TO SEE WHAT IT WILL DO, ILL LET EVERYONE KNOW
SilveradoClassic Posted April 27, 2007 Posted April 27, 2007 I am considering one of these too. How much of a fuel milage increase do you think I could expect with a 87 octane performance tune? I have read that most people gain milage regardless of performance or economy tunes, but almost every result I have read has been tunes for premium gas....
