Trans temp gauge

Does anyone know how to add a trans temp gauge to a 1/2ton model? It is a 05 4x4.

Three ways:

 

1. Buy an instrument cluster off of another '03-'05 full size GM truck or SUV. Escalade cluster will work. Clusters from '02 and earlier will not, the cluster was changed somewhat for '06, may or may not work.

 

2. Get a standard trans temp gauge, stick the sender into the pressure test port on the side of the tranny, and run wires.

 

3. Do what I did, and get a set of Interceptor gauges. They plug straight into the onboard diagnostics port in the truck.
