Why does my '05 not have some of the DIC features my '03 had? Like real time MPG and Personal/ buisness trip? I really dont like the new DIC at all. Can I sawp instrument clusters and get the "old" style back? What if i put in a Denali Cluster? Am I stuck with this simplified version.

Also i have Memory seats but on the old stlye, when you open the door, the seats went back. There were settings on the DIC for keyless entry and Memory seating-no more! Can i get this function back too?

You can set the seats to go back when you pull the key out, I can't remember off hand, but it's easy and in the manual.

 Right but i want them to go back to Memory position when i put the key in like the '03. Or remotely also.

The question is whether the DIC options are in the cluster or the PCM and if I upgrade cluster will i get those other functions? :D

My 05 does that. Seat retracts when I pull the key out and the seat moves forward to my position after I get in.

GM decided to cut a few penny-pinching corners--that's why '05 DIC is missing features offered in '03-'04 ones...same deal with memory seat recall using factory remote not available in '05.

So if i got an '03 cluster would i get those features back?

You will get many of the features back. I discovered that with my '05. I don't have memory seat functions so can't verify that, but instant fuel mileage, etc., is restored.

Probably, but I don't remember if some of the DIC functions/features are stored/controlled by the BCM...if not, then yeah you should be good to go, I think...

I want to do this also! What exactly do I have to do to get the 2004 instant mpg and personal/business trip odometer functionality working in my 2005?

Is a cluster/DIC module exchange necessary? Or can it be done with reprogramming the BCM?

If I change the cluster, what will happen to the odometer reading, on which the original 3yr/36Km warranty is based?
