1998 5.7 needs a performance boost

my 5.7 in my 98 yukon could use a horsepower boost, what would be the best way to gain 50+hp for around $1000?

easiest way to get 50 more would just be to spray, or for power all the time go with Alex's plan

I am looking to wake up my 99 Suburban with the 5.7 also. Have you tried any of these suggestions yet?

 

The only other options I have looked at are either a supercharger or a 383 stroker motor.

 

Someone I think mentioned some kind of a marine intake manifold when I performed a search earlier, but I can't remember where it was...darn old age!
