EGR Removal

I am going to remove my EGR valve since it is bad, I am going to order a block off plate from summit, has any one done this, I need to know how to jump the wires so that it does not throw a code. Thanks

You would have to get a custom PCM to prevent codes from coming on and poor drivability. I suggest you just replace the EGR and forget it.

I would agree, I got a used EGR valve off of ebay for $20 with $10 shipping. Works great. I wasn't looking forward to paying $180 plus for a new one from a parts dealer. A new gasket from advance auto is $1.98. It takes a 10MM socket to get it off.

The 5.7 MPI engines had a problem some times with the EGR. Mostly the passages or valve get plugged up. Since it digital not vaccum operated its very seldom the valve electronics.

I tried cleanin the EGR but that wouldnt do it, helped a little at first, but that wasnt gonna do it
