04 Silverado Headlight

I was looking at my headlights and noticed what looks like a knockout for a plug for a light socket, it is on the top upper corner fender side, has anyone noticed this or used it. I was thinking of installing a 194 Red LED bulb and socket to shine forward so that the headlight will glow Red ??? off road only He He He!

I noticed that too...I just shrugged it off but i would love to know...

I wonder if it's on the '05s too - I'll have to take a look for that. If there, I'd use it as an additional quasi daytime angel eye.

In Europe and Australia most cars use the headlight as a parking/running light for city driving visibility without shining a light into on-coming traffic. With more street lights this is a great way to keep pedestrians safe. Saabs have these lights in place if you want to see them in action.

It's actually there to allow for law enforcement strobe applications. Also, construction (road work) vehicles have strobes installed there for safety.
