Alright on it again....40 vs 50 poll time!!!

Let me know why you went with it

Also how much queiter is the 50 OUTSIDE the truck than the 40?

Also how loud is the 40 inside your truck?

The 50 series is a lot quieter than the 40. I thought the 40 was obnixous in the cab and really annoyed me. I have my tips coming out at the rear corners of the truck rather than at the rear (when I pull a trailer, I do not get the bounce back), the 50 series has enough noise to let people know I am there, but not to much in the cab. I think it is a nice balance.

I love the sound of loud trucks, as long as they belong to some one else. I prefer quiet for myself.

At least all the guys with loud trucks might run a deer over to me when they are driving into the woods.

Mine isnt a "loud truck"....its what a truck SHOULD sound like. Not some d**n honda POS. It has a nice low rumble to it and isn't loud going down the road. Very happy with it.

I used to always use 40 series on my trucks... UNTIL one day I went in to get a muffler for my new Dodge and the shop owner recommended a 50 series for it. I said OK...and that ended up being the BEST exhaust I ever had. That muffler was quiet inside the cab, but sounded like a NASCAR engine outside the cab. I LOVE the 50 series muffler and I would not buy a 40 series again. I wish I had gotten a 50 series for this truck instead of the DynoMax.

I have the 50 single in/dual out on my 2000 5.3l ECSB.

I have a sound clip on my website - click my sig pic below

either loud or quiet none of that in the middle stuff. i had strait pipes on my goat. dosent matter how deep your rumble is when you can't here it over my pipes.

the truck is gonna stay quiet. if i mod the exhaust i'll prolly go with 30's just because i hate haveing dual exhaust except for the last 3 feet of pipe and the muffler.

I like my 40 series, Great sounding idle, and great thru the RPM's. The last truck I had was packing a inline six, which sounds...well weird. Kinda like a tractor. I like haveing a rumble. Beats a weed wacker Honda. That's just annoying. I cant stand the sound of 4 cylinders, sound so weak and loud.

I really like my exhaust. Mine is single in dual out, but one cat, one muffler. Two exits to the muffler. It's a pretty stock setup, so I don't have to worry about anything really. It's a direct fit into my old stuff.

I went wiht Magnaflow. Sounds great.

I have a 40 series with duals coming out at the corners. Not too loud in the cab. Has a good rumble when getting on it but for me it's just right when cruising at a normal acceleration speed. Sitting at idle you can barely hear it, but you can still tell by the rumble that it's not stock.

I have a 50 series with duals. I went to it from straight pipes, which were incredibly LIIZZZOUD!!!!! I love the deep sound of the 50 series. I have a dual in/dual out and have both pipes, with 12" echo tips, routed out the rear passenger side. I found it to be absolutely delightful.....deep and smooth, no crackalackin, not too loud when the windows are up....great.

50 for me.
