Run what ya brung night?

Ok this sounds interesting and I can't wait to see it. At our local asphalt oval track www.jrpspeedway.com they are having a run what you brung race(s) Basically bring in any street legal car, pay $25 and put on a helmet. 5 laps 2 cars at a time. Final winner get's a trophy and half the "pot" Must show proof that you own the car(not mommy's buick) Specific rules are on the website.

I picture a camero or mustang smacking the wall and ruining the fun but it ought to be exciting till it last. I'll try and get some video.

Interesting. So how does this work? If Tom brings an 87' Park Ave, but Billy brings a 97' Corvette. Do they allow a head start for horsepower differences?

No i'm pretty sure it's a heads up. who knows who is gonna show-up if anyone's that crazy. They may have to split it up. A honda vs a vette may not be a fun race to watch. I wish I still had my little v8 sblazer.

Yeah right...My luck is some idiot riceboy in an '89 Acura is going to have one of his spinning hubcaps come off and it will shoot right through my door, stabbing me in the leg...Which will of course twitch like a mofo, mashing the gas, running me right over the berm an into the pits at 97 mph.

Why only 97? If your gonna mash the gas cause your leg was twitching and hit the berm, you might as well try and go as fast as you can to get the most air.

Hmmm, I am just crazy enough to bring my truck I could care less who I race against, it would be kinda cool to "race the truck" as Dale Jarret puts it.

If I did win I would have to do burn out.

That's why I'm takin the camera. Hoping the crazy people show up

I am not sure if they are gonna run this weekend or not. Was supposed to be everyother weekend and we rained out last week. They gonna run them after the regular show. I guess so the antifreeze and glass doesn't disrupt us.

I looked at the schedule, the 20th is the next race maarked for it. I bet it's pretty late by the time they start the reject races, much less finish them.
