remote turn on for subs

anyone know where i can tap into a hot wire that stays hot until the doors are opened? on my 04 it had a pink wire in the bose to tap into and on the 06 it does not. i ohmed a bunch of wires and never found one that stays on like the radio. stupid class ii data bus....

I am looking for the same thing. A buddy of mine is using his windsheild wipers but I am not so sure those say on like the radio. I had also heard someone tell me about the light blue wire going into my fuse box but I have no clue if that is good info or not so until I hear of someone doing it I probably wont go cutting into anything.

keep looking, the pink wire is still there.

does your 06 truck have the Bose stereo? If the truck doesnt have the Bose stereo, it wont have the wire...... non-Bose stereo's dont need that pink wire because there is no external amp that needs a turn-on signal.

which fuse box??

Id be cautious about tapping into wires unless you are sure what they do Although the DLC chips in Class II modules (like the radio, bcm, insturment cluster etc) are protected against 40 volt spikes and shorts to ground, you can still fry something........

yes the pink wire is there but it is only 6v not 12v. according to PAC you have to get power from the fuse panel. i have a fuse on my remote wire just in case. i have seen a couple remote wires catch a spike or two. i ohmed all the wires on the back of the radio and the amp. there is one 12v all the time on the radio and one on the amp. neither one switch off when the radio is off.

so you have Bose in this truck or not? As I said before, if you dont have Bose that wire wont work

Ok so if I don't have a Bose system any ideas on what I can tap into?

and trust me I dont want to just tap into anything if I dont know exactly what it is. Thanks.

i tapped into the tbc acc fuse. i dont know what it runs but it comes on/off with the key. no problems so far.....

i tapped the power wire that powers the head unit with my non-bose system. look up a wiring diagram, i dont understand the confusion

FYI for anyone with a 2006 when the key is turned just before the truck starts so the farthest key point. the correct ignition wire is Brown. If you take the plastic off just below the steering wheel you also have to take off the face of the guage panel. there are three 7mill wires that come off the steering columne a white brown and I think yellow cant miss them grab the Brown wire with a T cilp and attach your remote wire to that.
