Ford replacing Piston Slap engines

For you GM Piston Slap enthusiasts, Ford apparently is having the same problem and supposedly will be replacing engines:

OK so I now see that thread is over 2yrs old, but at least they seem to be doing something about their problems.

I recall a post by a GM Master Tech earlier this year

stating that not all of the 5.3's make noise, and that this is

due to the type of piston (aluminum Hypeuretic). I have never

heard of a 5.3 failing in service, so long as there was oil in it.

Any high mileage 5.3s (100K+) out there?

Supposedly GM is fixing the problem(s) or replacing engines ... I would like to hear what GM is officially telling the dealers ...
