Manual Selectable ride option

I have a 2004 Silverado LS Ext Cab 4x4

I have ask my Dealer this question a few times and still no response.

Manual Selectable Ride

Does anyone know how this works?

Does my truck have air shocks or what?

I know it has torsion bars that is not my question.

 

Next to my Air bag override switch is a button of a tire on top of a bump.

when you turn it on the trucks feels really stiff, firm and starts bouncing on the road. kind of like you just cranked the torsion bars as far as they can go.

 

The option is called ZX3 "Manual Selectable Ride"

 

I would just like to know how what happens to make this change in ride?

Also what all it's is used for?

 

Everyone I ask says they never heard of it, and havent got a clue as to what it does.
