Lift, Tires, Wheels Recommendation?

Hi, new to this site...

I have a 05 GMC 2500HD regular cab. I would like to lift and put a nice tire and wheel combo good for 4 wheeling on occasion and mostly on road driving.

I have been on ebay and see a Pro-Comp 6" kit that looks decent. I don't really know where to go, I have been looking for similar pics of reg cab truck to get an idea.

Just looking for a decent lift with a good ride for off-road, and a sharp set of whels and larger tires. Then I would like to ad a chip and cat back system that sounds real nice. Any recommendations on any of this stuff would be welcomed. Thanks in advance. Also where is the best place to get this stuff? :flag:

I have a ProComp on mine and really like it. I went that route for a few reasons. It's a "full drop" lift kit, so it drops the front diff a full 6". Some kits only drop it 4", and then give you new knuckles. So in theory, you are cranking it 2". ProComp has nice and flat CV angles at 6", with the ability to crank some. I'm sitting with about a 7.5" lift up front. Also, knuckle kits will push out your front tires some. Some push out each side 1.5". The new ones are only about 3/4". I like full drops because they keep them at the factory track width. The downside is that Full Drop kits are harder to install. A bit more cutting than a knuckle kit. Figure on at least two whole days for install if your handy. Some knuckle kits can be done in 1 day.

The only other kit I would reccomend is Cognito. I probably would have went this way if I had more money, but I can't complain at all about my ProComp. I use it pretty hard and even do some rockcrawling/trail riding with it. 4wheelparts always has good prices, but sometimes can be a bear to deal with. I had a slight delay in delivery, but it wasn't too bad.

Pic doesn't help much since it's a crew, but here's mine:

I have an 01 with a 6in RCD lift and 325 60 R20 on it. There is enough rubber on the rim to make it look good on a 4x4. I still have the stock 4:10 gears with a 6 speed manual and it seems to do just fine.
