Shift Kit Removal

I recently had a transmission shop remove my shift kit because I will trading it in soon. The truck shifts fine with the factory PCM back in except under light throttle the 1-2 is very stiff. If I give it any thing over about 1/3 throttle the shift is smooth. Is it possible that they may have forgotten something or is it also possible that the PCM needs to relearn the shift and it will correct itself? Any suggestion from anyone is greatly appreciated.

I went back to the tranny shop today but unfortunately the tech who removed the shift kit was off today so they can't confirm if the pistons were put in correctly. Another thing is when I put the tow haul mode on the all shifts are smooth even at light throttle. Is it possible that the computer is still used to the shift kit and this is the cause of this?
