I want to add the direct fm modulator for sirius radio into my truck. i was wondering if i can pull the radio and disconnect it with out having to go to the dealer to get it reprogrammed. I heard somewhere that if you take out the radio, even for a short period, the truck will think that the radio is being stolen and will lock itseelf, and the only way to unlock it is to bring it to the dealer and program the VIN code back in.

It will not lock up even if it's marked a Theftlock radio. When the radio is new, it learns a code from your truck that allows it to play only in your truck. If you were to take it and plug into another truck it wouldn't see that code and would lock up. Since you are just unplugging it and reinstalling it into the same truck it will work fine no matter how long it stays unplugged.

Is this also true if I were to pull the radio fuse out? My daughters '99 Blazer throws an "ERR" from the CD player. Hoping by pulling the fuse it maight reset the unit. Already tried canned air and a CD cleaning disk.

Thanks
