cambo Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Here is my 2001 Silverado Extended Cab Z71 LS. I bought it used on July 5th, 2005 and have babied her since. I only have two "performance" mods on it, and that would be Ford torsion keys and 3" true dual straight pipes, 2 1/4" x-pipe, and 3 1/2 rounded tips coming out the side of the truck. I bought the truck with a set of 265/75/R16 BF Goodrich All-Terrains T/A's I got limo tint on all windows and added a Sony Xplod headunit because the OEM cd player was scratching my cd's. In April after prom, I couldn't see behind me and I backed over a foot tall wooden fence and bent my exhaust into my left quater panel and made the exhaust come out at a sharper angle. In December I turned too sharp into a stop sign and caused $976 of damage to the right rear quater panel. I have yet to get it fixed. Three weeks later I was trailering my fourwheeler and a lady rear-ended me and pulled my bumper and reciever down about 2-3 inches. That cost of damage to that was only $216, because it only bent the mounting brackets, so an easy fix. After my bumper is fixed I plan out re-routing my exhaust to come straight out my bumper. I also need new tires cause my current ones are going bald. My rear shocks are almost shot, my truck leans to the right rear and looks horrible. It sounds like I do not take care of my truck, but I do. These are just little uh-oh's that I don't have the money to fix it. Here are some of my pictures and select videos from my YouTube. These pictures were taken before I messed up my exhaust. The videos were after the exhaust mishap, but way before the two recent accidents. New pictures will be coming soon.
Khaos05 Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 that's only with torsion keys? How much did that run you? And where did you get them?
cambo Posted January 20, 2007 Author Posted January 20, 2007 that's only with torsion keys? How much did that run you? And where did you get them? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think about $150, install and everything. It rides rough, but I am researching heavily for some high quality shocks. I read on Rancho's site about this new shock that they are developing, that will allow you to run a 34"-35" tires. However with my luck they won't fit my truck.
TheTrueMoron Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 I can't believe you got to 80 that fast. It can go faster than that, which I'm sure you know. I've gotten to 90 in my '01. Do you know if the previous owner used a tuner on it?
cambo Posted January 21, 2007 Author Posted January 21, 2007 Yea I know it can get to 96 mph before it shuts off. Tuner? I highly doubt it, cause most Silverado's around here do the same, but I have no clue, he could have.
