MagnaFlow vs Flowmaster

I have no idea which is better.

When i had my Camaro SS i was told the Flowmaster 80 series sucks and it was proven.

but on my truck i want something abit louder than my Magnaflows ( maybe i should have had one dual in/out muffler instead of 2 singe in/out mufflers)

any input?

On a 5.3 engine and a 5.0, both cases, the only modification to the stock exhaust was the replacement of the stock muffler with a flowmaster. First used a flowmaster 50 delta flow, second used a flowmaster 40 series.

Sounds great, Idle is nice, growls nicely when you accelerate, otherwise tame. the 50 series delta flow had less interior resonance, matter of fact, it seemed nearly stock with the windows up, growled like a muscle car when you accelerate, sounds great.

I was always a believer in cut the cat, run duals...after these two experiences...I wouldnt hesitate to simply replace the stock muffler or run a single pipe.

I think it might be what your after.

I see you already have duals..hmm..

check around local muffler shops, see if they'll put a couple flowmaster 50's delta flow on your truck and let you test them out, some shops will do this, some will not.

Gonna sound good w/t your big block.

I can not say anything about magnaflow as I have never had one of their mufflers on my truck. But I do have a flowmaster exhaust system on it with the 70 series Big Block II muffler, this muffler gives just a slight rumble when cruising (radio will overpower it easily), and when you get on the accelerator lightly you will hear it in the cab. I did seam to loose a little bit of low end torque but nothing that I ws too worried about.
