A/c Question

I've got a '92 half ton Chevy truck that has been retrofitted to R134a. I think that I may have too much refrigerant in it......

It is curently about 90 degrees outside. With the truck idling and the A/C on, I just measured 50 psi on the low side and 270 psi on the high side. Is this too much? If so, where should I be?

If I need to release some refrigerant, what is the best way to go about doing it?

Thanks.

it should be no more than 45-46 psi low side or else your overcharged. The best way is to let it out through your guage hoses. Or the port where you connect to is like a tire valve, Push down on the stem.

You should check the freon charge with the engine rpm about 1500.
