Purchased a 2007 Sierra 1500 Crew Cab last weekend. This is my first GMC truck. So not only am I a new member but a first time owner. Got a pretty sweet deal on the truck; $20 over invoice and 0% financing as part of the "year end model clearance" here in alabama. It's an SLE1, autotrac 4x4, Z71, 5.3L AFM engine and the H.D. tow package. It's got all the mechanical stuff I wanted without all the extra fluff (rear dvd, sunroof, bose stereo, etc.) I didn't want. Though I have to admit, some of the "cool factor" options are very nice, remote start, remote door locks, auto climate control, steering wheel audio controls. Coming from a used police car with NO creature comforts, it's a big improvement. And I seriously like the rear seats that fold up, mucho beuno for dog transportation.

The trailer wiring setup was causing me a bit of consternation, but this forum and a couple links later and I've got it figured. I have a Valley Odyssey brake controller on the way. (I know that the Prodigy is very popular, but I had an Odyssey installed in the cop car and it worked so well, I'm sold on the model, first case of brand loyalty I've ever had) Otherwise, I've got nothing bad to say about my choice in vehicles.

Well... I bet that won't be your LAST GMC. Nice truck and welcome aboard.

Welcome aboard. Too bad your last ride wasn't 1 of my former work cars, I have a reputation around our place for being a bit crazy about keeping my car clean(unfortunately we don't have our own or take them home).
