What happened to the release of this add on? It was announced last November for release in the 2nd quarter of 2007. Then I read the release had been pushed until August/September. Now I can't seem to find any information about it.

Anyone have any updates?

It's just been delayed several times, apparently due to supplier issues (i.e. still problems with the people making it, or making parts for it). It WAS supposed to be out a long time ago, but still isn't, and dealers and such still have no information as to a date. Actually, I think there was just another delay recently.

It's coming, and exists, they just need to get whatever supplier issues sorted out once and for all--in addition to any other holdback problems.

I clicked the link,but nothing,Its blank.

it didnt work for me either, but i did a google search and found more info on it. Just what I thought it was it is what is called a "2-way" Auto start, it not only starts the vehicle but sends a signal back to the remote to let you know that it started, also can show if the doors are locked or not, according to my search this one will also give other information. 2 way auto starts are pretty common in my part of alaska and I definatly would love to have one if GM ever decides to put them out on the market.

OK,Thanks guys.

Sounds like something I wouldn't mind having myself,I'll try and keep track of when they are available.

You could also go with an aftermarket Remote start as well. I live in Northern alberta, and this is someting that many people get. I couldnt imagine going through winter without it. Mine has a range of 2000 feet, and its 2 way.

Lisa,

Is your 08 going to have this 2-way remote?

I want it, I wonder how much it will be to upgrade?

I would guess no, it was listed under the accessories in the brochure but i also want it. Going to stop by the dealer and see if they know anything (ha ha)

My truck is on its way though, was shipped yesterday!

An aftermarket unit is out....cost plus the extra fob on my key chain isn't worth it to me. Word is the GM add-on is going to be somewhere between $150 and $250. Hopefully that pricing holds true and they get it out soon. The dealers I have spoken to don't have a clue what it is or the one's who do have no idea when it will be released. :pimp:

Are changes to the existing remote receiver in the truck needed, or can I just buy the remote and have it programmed?

Would love to have a 2 way remote, since I can not tell if the truck is running. Checked on some aftermarket prices 2 way remotes, can not remember the name but the best I found was around $450 installed, this had a 2000 feet range, you could also program the heated seats.
