Mine just came in, you guys are making it sound like its not worth the trouble. Is it? Im thinking yes, just for the fact that if i do need one replaced i dont have to do them all.

 

Only for the reason you mentioned.

I can't believe the covers in my 2010 are the 'upgraded'. Hair gets embedded, lint all over, they are hands down the worst seats I've ever had.

I agree, I have 2010 with ebony covers and I have had to buy aftermarket covers for my rear seat so my dog can ride with me. The fronts I just clean daily. :loser:(((((. The worst covers ever sold by any manufacturer period!

Just picked up a 2010 LT CewCab with Ebony cloth,wanted a 6.2 with bench seat and this was the only one within 750 miles....Anyway,I drove it 2 days and ordered Katskinz Leather and GM accesserie Heated Seat kit.I now have My all time favorite combo..... Leather Heated Bench 40/20/40 ! Moral of the Story,I think the 2010 Cloth sucks worse than the 07.

I was worried about that. I had a 04 ram with cloth seats and I had the same proble with fuzzies and collecting everything. I added leather to my Lt. It was $900 more but worth every penny. Go back to your dealer and ask how much leather would be. Mine told me he could add it any time to any truck.

i am getting my new covers put on my 08 next week, wish i could wait a couple of years but hey its free, ill update on fit n finish after install

Guys, I have the '11 Silverado with the black cloth interior (console, dual power seats) and these seats are TERRIBLE at collecting all the lint. I found this thread through the "search" button and I read through pages 1-10 and then went to the last page. Is there anything the dealer can do to fix this problem? I can't find a lint roller that will work. What should I do? Does Chevy/GM even care that us owners are mad about this? Any help on what to do is greatly appreciated!

I bought my 2010 in June and took it to the dealer 3 weeks later for the seats, they told me to get seat covers. :shakehead:

I have a 2010 silverado as well....factory covers suck, can't keep them clean. I can't let my pup ride with me, or anything. Sucks...Guess I will have to look at a aftermarket seat cover like some of you have.

But will the dealers give you the Ebony Chevy Seat colors for FREE and install them? They are the ones that have the bowtie on the headrest and they are found on gmaccessories.com. I am not going to have this truck for 3 years and deal with this crap nor am I going to pay for anything when the damn seats collect lint, hairs and other stuff that NO OTHER SEAT in the history of me buying vehicles has done.

The seat covers are being discontinued due to most of the '10-up trucks having seat-mounted side air bags,and you cannot use seat covers on them.

I can tell you, I had mine replaced last year in mine. and wish I didn't, these are 100% worse than orignal ones. I could at least get them clean, with these you spend 3 hrs picking pet hair

I just got back from the dealer for having my door locks fixed. i was told the service manager had to look at the seats and confirm they were part of the tsb. after my locks are fixed he tells me the district service manager has to see them. wtf? anyone else have to go through this to get the covers swapped out?

Yes,As per the TSB the district service manager is suppose to look at them before any repair/replacement is made.

      Folks, Have a great new 2026 WT  (std cab, 2.7/4WD) w/base 40/20/40 mech adj bench "fake buckets"  (with lower and upper center console) heavy vinyl seats.  Overall the seats are very comfortable and the vinyl is heavy and appears less likely to 'split out'. Am very tall (6'5")  + a bad back/osteporosis/former hyperparathyroidism so ease/range of movement is a bit restricted.  The truck rides a bit high and I use a nerf step bar w/my left foot to step in, then I put right foot/leg in, drag my butt in  & get seated.  Worked fine in my 2018 RAM quadCab. But I end up dragging my butt over the left raised sidecushsion area of vinyl seat, and due to texture there's fair amount of traction on slide inward.  (ArmorAll didn't improve.) If the seat were even ~1/2" - 3/4" lower it'd be helpful, but base seats just have the forward/backward underseat bail and the side lever for tilt which really doesn't affect seat height.   I really don't want to 'de-puff' the left side sidecushion forming the  fake 'bucket'. I know one company sells 'seat elevator blocks':  but is there a simple way of lowering the height of the driver seat instead?   Thanks Bill W San Jose

      I have a basic 2026 1500 WT  (2.7L/4WD reg cab shorttbed). Comfy, generally happy with electronics/radio - but is there a way I can add switches to steering wheel right-side position (curr. empty) so I can adjust volume, push phone button to voice dial, etc? Bill W San Jose

      The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.

      So I purchased the Range unit for my 2026 and I am seeing different locations suggested for the ECM . Can anyone confirm wither under hood, left side or right side or behind the wheelwell?

      Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.
