Tsb On Ebony Seat

Just picked my '07 up yesterday after they replaced the upholstery. Looks great, and hopefully no more lint. Very painless, too. While getting a trans leak checked, asked the service guy if he knew about it. He said they had done a few of them, asked me if I wanted it done. I told him yes and he ordered the parts right then. Never even checked my seats, didn't take pics or anything, all I had to do was ask for it, and it was done. Mine was actually clean at the time, too, I had just cleaned it a few days before, but he didn't even check that. Yea Chevrolet!

My dealer is checking and knows about it, I will see what he says wonder if they would let me get gray instead of black new ones?

i got mine back a few weeks ago and I had the two toned titanium cloth seats and they replaced it with the same seats. kinda weird.

Soooo this is a long thread. I have not read all the pages so not sure if my question was asked or not.

I have an 09. I know my material came with the new material. However recently I purchased a new center jumpseat and it has the old material. Would the dealership or GM allow my just to get the jumpseat re-done even though it did not come in my truck?

They don't recover the center jump seat. It's a complete replacement jumpseat. As is the headreasts and rear armrest, too. I doubt they would do it for you, but it couldn't hurt to ask.

good luck

Im sure that this has been answer in one of the 83 pages, but I have a 2010 and it is nasty the amount of lint my seat has on it. Is the 2010's covered or do they have the "new" material?

Posted

I got mine replaced a year ago. It was the same material and I still collect just about everything. I had a 2010 rental and the material is totally different.

Sounds like they just reordered the 2009 covers for you and sent you on your way. The new covers are supposed to be like the ones in the 2010s. I have not gotten mine switched over yet as I have not had the time. I have just kept an eye on this thread and that's what other people have posted. MSDALE works at a Chevy dealer in their parts dept. I believe he is the one that said the material is like the 2010s. Read the 1st post #1171 on page 79 or just click here... http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...380&st=1170

They should have used a better material, i try hard to keep the seats clean. It seems like i am de-linting the seats daily.

Ordered my seats yesterday. Will be put on sometime next week. My seats make the inside of my truck look like shit.

Yep,Those are the "new" style material covers

Rich, I just went to my dealer and they ordered a total of 12 pieces for my replacement. Problem is that my 09 was built in Dec. of 08 and the fabric looks like this already. Surely they wouldn't replace with identical fabric would they?

What makes those the new style? I am thinking mine look nearly the same through the center. I certainly would not mind having the new seat covers if I can get it done.
