Tsb On Ebony Seat

I called my dealer about 5 min ago and gave them my VIN and they said there are not open recalls for my VIN so I guess I don't have the seat issue.

I don't think a TSB is a recall. I believe a TSB is there incase the customer complains and the TSB is the GM solution for the dealer to follow. A recall is something that affects safety. I know someone will correct me on this though. LOL

It's not a recall. You need to complain about the excessive lint on your seats and tell them you saw the TSB regarding the issue.

You are 100% correct,A TSB is not a recall,And a TSB helps the technician fix a compliant or issue.

I called a Chevrolet Dealer about an hour ago and talked to a service guy and he said if I have a RPO code of AE7, AZ3, OR A95 and my truck was built before August 1 2007 then I am covered. I have RPO code AE7 so I am going there after work today. :-) thanks guys for helping me with this. I appreciate it.

I have a 2007 with black seats with the grey inserts are these also covered in this TSB? they are Cloth.

 

also what is the TSB number I have to tell my dealer? I am damn close to hitting 36,000 miles.

The TSB number is 07-08-50-018F

Look in your glove box on the SPID label and look for one of the following codes.....19C or 19D,Those are the trim codes that are involved.

 

 

 

No 19C or 19D for me. I guess I'm not effected.

 

 

Correct,You must have 19C or 19D to be under the TSB,The two-tone color seats are not involved under the TSB.

True,But if you don't have 19C or 19D trim codes your truck does not fall under the TSB.

I got excited about this solution, but I realized a few weeks ago that I was 1,000 miles out of my 3 / 36 warranty.

 

I assume this being a TSB (and not a recall) that it wouldn't be covered for me? Or does TSB money get covered by GM?

With only being 1,000 miles out,they should be able to do a "goodwill" warranty with no issues.

Yeah,Your dealer should really not give you any issue at all about covering it,especially if you bought your truck there,and since its a known issue.

Thats good,Just remember...the covers listed in the TSB are all Ebony,and not two-tone like you said you have.
