Stalling Duramax

I have a 2003 2500HD w/Duramax & Allison Tranny and appr. 88k miles on it. Never a problem of any sort until this. It simply quits running, sometimes when idling, sometimes when accelerating from stop, sometimes when driving on the highway at 70 MPH. DTC codes pointed to crankshaft sensor, so I replaced it yesterday. The problem seems to have gotten worse. Do I need to have the dealer "tell" the ECM there is a new sensor in there?

My brother had the same symptoms, but his problem was 1 of his injectors was dumping fuel and it would flood out and die.

You may try unhooking both batterys for about 1 hr this will reset the computer and it will have to do a relearn, after you hook the batterys back up and start the truck then drive it this should relearn the new crank sensor.

Thanks for the feedback. I tried it, but it didn't make a dufference. The dealer has it now, they think it is the injector problem...

Usally when injectors go its 1 or 2 at a time and she will smoke plus fuel will be in the oil pan, might be the fuel lift pump.
