Bug Deflector For Nbs

i was thinking of using a Go-Industries Rancher .. :-)

I may be reading this wrong, but how big are the bugs in the Pacific North West? That looks like a brush guard to me!

I have the EGR Lo-Profile bug guard on my truck. It fit good and doesn't make noise, a complaint I've heard about some bug guards on these NBS trucks. Here are a couple of pics:

There are some other posts here about bug deflectors.

The best one I saw was the clear sticky plastic coating just on front of hood. I have no idea what it is called. But a picture of it is on another post similiar to yours.

I had a real plastic bug deflector on my 1990 1500 since new. It was held on by two way foam tape. Unfortunately, after time, the tape unstuck and the deflector wore the paint off parts of the front of hood. Granted, I didn't pay close attention. I ended up having the whole hood repainted. As the lost paint turned to surface rust.

Well, I'm happy to report that bug guard technology has come a long way! I remember a bug deflector I had on my 94 Ranger, it had a couple of rubber pieces that rested against the hood, they too rubbed the paint off the hood.

The EGR Bug Deflector I have bolts to the under side of the hood using the exsisting screw holes (they provide new screws that are a bit longer and have bigger whasers to better distribute the weight of the deflector), and other than where it mounts under the hood, nothing touches the hood or the paint!

The stuff you are referring to in your post is called Clear Bra, it's made by 3M. Good stuff, but pricey and tricky to install if you're going to do it yourself!

AVS Bug Shield and it does not rub up on the paint, I should be able to post close up pictures in an hour or so.

Generally, I'm not a fan of them, but I think a "chrome" bug shield would look nice on your blue truck.

Is there one out there that doesn't cover up the upper

chrome piece on the grill?

Yep, the GM accessories one. Available at your dealer, chrome is about $150 installed, about $25 cheaper for smoked.

VMax2007, good looking, I couldn't even see it in your signature pic.

The GM one does not! I am going to buy this one because I like the crome bar ontop of our grilles. I have the AvS and I do not like it because it covers it up! :)

Here are some pics of my bug deflector (no not NBS but I have been told that AVS has the same setup for the NBS)
