Tahoe Ignition Wire

I wired a video system to the pink 12v switched wire in the ignition harness of a 2007 Tahoe. The problem it caused was that when you switch the key off, the starter would engage and spin for a second or two. Also, this would happen when removing the probe from an airbag safe test light. Any idea for a fix or another location for a 12v switched wire? This vehicle doesn't have the Bose system. Switched wires are getting harder to find in these new vehicles.

Iam a GM tech and I cannot beleive what you are doing,take the truck to a professional installer,I know you have a wack of dtc's now in your truck,get them cleared at a dealer ship after the install.

Does sound like you should put thing back the way they were before and consult a professional.

 

Also, I don't understand why you are saying there aren't any switched wires. How about the radio/sound wires?

 

Again: if you can't manage to tap into those wires you should probably not do the install.

 

I mean it good with you. I know of two people who installed an aftermarked stereo system and their cars went up in flames a few days after. One of them was my younger brother.
