Perhaps instead of worrying about waxing your car you could spend your time learning to use the English language. :)

Well... just messing with ya a little.

We do like to write out things in here. It makes us look less like 12 year old text messge freaks... although I am sure some of us aren't much smarter than they are.

I like to wax my truck before winter comes around... just for a little extra protection. I'm sure more people will chime in.

Well when it's warm out I might wax mine every two weeks and wipe it down with detail spray in between. But for winter I use Poorboys EX-P Sealant which last a long time and makes it easier to keep clean,if it gets over 60 I might put on another coat once a month.

On your tips try Eagle One Nevr-Dull wadding polish. Will make your tips look like new.

i like to wax my truck about twice a year. Right before the winter hits and then i try and catch it right before the spring rains and summer heat comes. For the pipes i actually use Meguiars tire shine, the same stuff i use on my tires and it makes them shine like new also.

If you have no idea what you are doing, take it to a pro detail shop! It sounds like you have never done this before. You can get into serious trouble using the wrong products where they don't go if you don't have a clue. Any vehicle should have it's paint cleaned (cleaner/clay) and fully waxed between 2-4 times per year. It depends on where you live and how the vehicle is stored, how much it is driven, and how much sun/salt it gets exposed to. It should be cleaned (inside and out) for most, about once per week. If you don't keep up, the paint will fade as the clear coat gets burned away, the plastic will discolor, the interior will fall apart, the windows will get deep scratches, the wheels will loose their coating and/or rust, chrome will pit, and the underbody will rust (more so on northern cars).

I wax each season. Remove old & apply new every 3 - 4 months, exept winter, just double up and hope the salt is fought off

I average once a month with an acrlyic (sp) type synthetic product called Der Shiney Stuff which I find online only. (I detail cars part time in my area and it s turned into a small business.) Then maybe twice a year I use a cleaner wax and/or clay to remove any junk in the paint. As Mini said , you do need to reasearch and be sure what you are doing. I ve seen people come to me with new cars which someone waxed or compounded the paint and destroyed it. Do a search and read what most of the guys are doing to get an idea. A new vehicle should only need a minor cleaner and then a protectant. I find it easier to keep it clean by waxing once a month than waiting 6 months or so and having to remove all the junk stuck on the paint. After you wash it, the paint should feels like glass to your fingertips. If you feel little bumps it s too late for wax only.

Yea, I live in Houston and while we don't have snow to deal with, we do have acid rain and extreme humidity. I probably wax once every couple of months. I'm kinda poor so I don't have means to clay and paint clean, but I'm about to do that again too.

Really depends on the climate that I'm dealing with.

hi there... live in northern ontario canada lots of snow cold weather, sand salt, the works... wax my truck every fall with Mothers. step 1,2 and then carnuba paste wax step 3...takes about 3 hours as well put 3 coats of wax on hood and roof as well as wheels ( thats where they get hit the hardest with salt) the paint still beads well into the summer. little bit of work but my 98 silverado's paint looks as great now as when it was new...
