Brake Lights Won't Stay On

1998 chev 1500 brake lights come on when I press pedal but go back out even if I'm still pressing on brake pedal, unless I press really hard, then they come on again. fuses all ok, I replaced the brake switch (twice) still same problem? Any ideas?

  Sunroof on Dizzy was like that. Fix it, break, fix it again, break.. Fix it again RTV it shut. Plastic gears. Love yards like that and they are few these days. Going to the mall before there were malls.

  My last three 1/2 ton GMC SLE's had the Z71 package. All of them had the 2 speed transfer case and Auto 4WD. My AT4HD has all of the above standard. In order of use, I use Auto 4WD the most then 4High. I rarely use 4LOW but like having it anyways. My next truck will probably be another AT4HD.

  I have no direct experience, but everything I have seen indicates Silverado and Sierra bed geometry is identical.
