Got My Windows Tinted Today..

I got 35% tint on the front 2 windows. I got it yesterday and today it is all bubbly. Is this normal???

It may look cloudy(depending on how cold it is), but not bubbly. The cloudyness will go away after a day or so in the sun. My brother in law tints windows and has done all my cars/trucks and they have never been bubbly. If its bubbly give it a day or so in the sun if possible, but if the tints "peeling up" the glass was not cleaned properly and the tint in not sticking correctly. I would call the shop and tell them what is going on. Do you know what kind of tint they used? My brother in law used Lumar on all my stuff and it always looked good. On my old 1995 Camaro the tint looked great even after 8-9 years. Hope this helps

It's really cold here and I can't park it in the garage or anything lol :D And I do not know what tint it is. I'll give it 2 more days and if its not good I'll go back.

No not mormal, a quality job will have zero bubbles. The ony thing that you might see is some streaking inbetween the glass and film, this is from the soap and water solution they spray to stick the film to the glass as it provides a lube so the film doesnt stick too fast and gives them working time but this clears up after about a day or two.

If there are bubble in there now there will always be bubbles. Take it back and tell them to re-tint it. When I got mine done there were zero bubbles even right after I left the place.

This is not always true. If they are actual air bubbles, I agree that they should not be there. Any air pockets will always be there... even after the film dries.

In cold climates, small pockets of moisture can and often do collect under the film when it is still wet. You can really see them on a cloudy day in fresh tint. Even though they look a bit like bubbles, they aren't anything to worry over. If that is what you are seeing, it will dry out and go away as the tint cures leaving no trace.

I'd give it a week at least in cold weather. You can always go back then if it is an issue. I bet it goes away.

Every time I had windows tinted in Minnesota, the tint had water bubbles in it. After a few days, they go away. Now in Florida, I drove away and the tint didn't have any bubbles, but I can see dust and other stuff that I never saw up north. I had the shop retint 3x because of this. I use nothing bu Llumar film also. I just don't know if it was the north vs. south thing or if the film has improved over the years as to the differences.

Yeah I had the same issue. The guy tinted my windows about 2 weeks ago when we had a little cold spurt and he told me not to roll the windows down for like 7 days so that it cures out real good and that any little bubbles will work them selves out and if not he told me to bring it back and he can heat the glass up and it will pull the tint tighter.

the bubblees should be gone after 24hrs. It is HIGHLY recomended that you shouldve parked in the garage. especially when cold.

i had my side windows done and had huge streaks of bubbles and then the next morning they were all gone. i was told to not roll my windows down for 2 days.

i did the back window myself with limo tint from advanced auto, and a school ID card. LOL it has NO bubbles.

cold weather is your worst enemy when it comes to getting windows tinted, without pictures its hard to say if what you are experiencing is something to worry about, I have had bubbles before and they have always gone away in a few days, I would definitely give it a week and if they are still there then I would take it back and have it fixed.

You guys are all wrong, bubbles are normal, give it 3-5 days and let us know if there are still bubbles.

-Don't roll your windows down for 2-4 days.

:D and thats all I have to say.

My idiot friend rolled the window down and some tint got messed up so the guy had to cut some off. But 2 more days and I'm taking it back.

I woulda waited until spring/summer.

BINGO ! remember there is water under the film, you want it to dry
