Installed Wheel House Liners Today

The weather was great here today, so I finally got a chance to clean up the truck and put the liners on. The rather large box they came in has been taking up wayyyyy too much room in my garage for a month. I didn't remove the wheels and tires so I could only put the top two screws in on each side but I don't really think it needs the screws at all. The fender lip on passgenger side has a defect on my truck. It's double walled where the holes for the fastners are and the hole closest to the rear wasn't large enough due to a slight misalignment of the two "walls". I tried to force it but it just destroyed the fastener. It would be easy enought to dremel it out a bit but I'd rather not disturb the paint on an area that sees that much water and dirt so I'll leave it alone, the liner is not going anywhere.

I also took a pick of the CMS side tool box I ordered with the liners.

I think one on each side might look better but I only need one right now and while the CMS is an inexpensive option at $99. The bits and pieces to make it fun are pricey. This little box is over $200. It's probably something Sears would sell for $40-50. I do like that it automatically keys the lock to what GM key you use in it the first time.

That Key thing sounds really cool, I wonder how it works though... And can you use your ignition key?

part #19166676

Is that the Chevy or the GMC part number? Same part does not fit both trucks.

Silverado part #19166676

Sierra part #19166677

The tumblers in the lock don't come set for a specific key; when you put a key in for the first time, the tumblers arrange for that particualr key.

After one week, I don't notice any difference except easier to clean. I'm guessing they will make a difference in sound level when on gravel but I haven't been on any yet.
