jcgilpin Posted February 2, 2008 Posted February 2, 2008 Was wondering if anybody has hard wired a lightbar in the new trucks? And if so, had any pics or info on what wire goes where? I noticed the cover on the adapter hookup tells a little bit, but would like to know more?

jcgilpin Posted February 2, 2008 Author Posted February 2, 2008 Yeah got it all installed in about 45 mins, had to lower the spare tire down to make getting to the harness alot easier. They have the list of wires and which one does what, right there in the back bumper.

ranger952 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 I did min a couple weeks ago. Couple things: 1. I got the Fire and Ice light bar. It has instructions for hooking up 4 wires: ground, reverse, and each of the turn signals. I did not see instrucxtions for the running lights, which was a promised function. I called the company, Plasmaglow, and they were helpful in letting me know I would need to install some additional parts to make that work. They sent them to me free of cherge. The parts were a resistor and 2 diodes. So, if you want the running lights, call them and they will send them. This is NOT in the instructions or on their website. They also emailed detailed instructions which were clear and easy to read. Everything works! 2. You might put a little silicone at the end of the bar to make sure it stays dry inside. I think the way its made is fine, but didnt think a waste of $.000002 of silicone would hurt. :-)
RyanZ71 Posted February 3, 2008 Posted February 3, 2008 Two words when I see one of those things on a truck. First word starts with R and ends with D and the second word starts with N and ends with K. Not going to say it.. not going to say it. Your truck, add what silly things you want.
