Will This Be A Sufficient Lift?

I went to a local truck place and asked them a few questions about lift/tires. I want to do 18" rims and bigger tires. They told me that I should be able to get away with a leveling kit 2-3" front and 1" rear and be able to fit 305/60/18

305/60/18's are about 33/12.50's

My question is will this be enough of a lift for my 07 classic CCLB?? Or will i have problems at a full turning radius.

DO NOT get a 2-3" leveling kit! All those leveling kits are, are re-indexed torsion keys, so it's the exact same thing as cranking the stock keys 2-3", which is way too far. The most you should ever crank the keys is 1-1.5". If you crank any further than that, the upper control arm will be resting on the bumpstop, and your suspension will have to down travel, so when you go over bumps, the wheels can't drop down, and your ride really sufferes. Not to mention, when you over crank, it severly accelerates wear on front suspension components such as ball joints, tie rods, pitman/idler arms, and CV's. If balljoints or tie rod ends fail at any speed, you're not going to be able to control the truck, so it's not something I'd be willing to risk, and I don't think you should risk those around you.

I'd crank about 1"-1.5", and put some 295's on.

I would do a real 4" suspension lift. If you have boards or steps you are goingto rub at full lock turn and a bump (like backing out of driveway). And any leveling or torsion crank is going to cause excessive wear on front end components by preloading. And your shocks are going to get pulled on before you hit the bumpstops BTW. Tore my upper shock mount right out of the frame from going full droop alot.

Cutting corners is bad juju.

Look for a Cognito UCA leveling kit. Not like other "leveling Kits", AKA, crank t-bars with a new key you don't need. They correct the upper ball angle, and relocate the position of the bump stop on the Upper Control Arm. Best on the market, hands down. I'm going that route if needed. If 2" lift or over, stock shocks won't allow enough travel. Need either new, longer shocks, or 2" spacer/shock extender. Cognito also has idler/pitman arm braces, everyone should have these, lift or not. Chris

Doesn't sound like a real safe lift to me, If you want bigger rims with bigger tires I say wait until your willing to do atleast a 4" lift, 4" will give it the height your wanting and nicer softer ride, without any risk.

Forget the leveling kit.. the CV's will be at angles well beyond their operating specs.... best case here, no vibes... worst case, vibrations so bad you'll drop it immediately, plus the CV strength goes down as angles go up, that's why pullers drop their fronts till the front axles are straight

I've tried both... lift is the way to go, if all you need is 3" then you can ease it down, if all 4" is needed then you're all set

Very well said. :) Even with the aftermarket UCA, the CV angles are still way too steep.
