Check this out. I get a phone call from my grandsons school telling me that he is in a lot of trouble, and they're wanting to expell him. I asked what he did that was so terrible? He drew a picture of a gun, and they found that to be a threat. ROTFLMAO, I asked them, what, are you afraid that he might draw some bullets, load the gun and shoot somebody. They didn't take to kindly to that. They thought if he was in my style of environment, he should not be around me so much. I'm still LMAO and I tell them, I do more for my grand kids than most fathers would ever hope to do. Well to keep a longer story short, I got him down to after school suspension for three days instead of expelled from school. I just can't believe what our society is coming to. IMHO we are headed in the wrong direction anymore.

I would tell em I am a member of the NRA and he is learning about gun safety and will be a fully trained card carrying member and gun owner when he reaches legal age ,, And then i would ask them if they had a problem with that ?

I would never let stand any time off , and would have made life hell for that school

I probably should've stood my ground a little more. I mean damn, the kid's only 9 yrs old. The only thing on his mind is baseball and fast Chevy's. I got him brain washed in those categories. He does love the war games and such on the xbox, but I doubt that would ever make him a mass murderer. They think they can control our every action in this town.

Ya the liberals want to control every thought , action and moment of our lives, from birth to death they have programs for us because we are helpless..

It is our duty , to bash this thinking , and make sure our kids are not brainwashed into thinking that the only thoughts that are good are what the liberal teachers union decide is a good thought.

If he was my kid , I would have raised hell , just as I have done over this b/s of global warming,, which is now called Climate change LMAO ,, Climate change ,, Perfect name ,, I mean the climate changes hourly and what better name to use to justify how terrible we are as Americans for driving and living our life. 3000 years of Methane lies off our coasts , ask a global warmer if there aware of that supply of pretty clean fuel and they look at ya like you just beamed down from the enterprise ..

The world is going nuts , the minority has gotten a loud voice and the majority are so busy working and living we have little time to fight back , it is time we each make the time , otherwise we will end up in ruins .. And the sad part is our taxes finance these losers , we have a hell of a job ahead of us...

My wife is a teacher and has had verble threats on her life and one of my nephews was on a hit list of some wack job in his school so as I fully understand your guys position you also need to look at it from their side. There is just too much risk in not knowing if its gonna turn into a threat or if its just a kid drawing a picture. They cant take the chance of giving him the benifit of the dought anymore. Im not saying your grandson is a threat but they just cant take the chance. I do think they were trying to make an example out of him with that extreme of a punishment which is b.s. Good to hear they were good enough to listen and reason with you. You wouldnt get that from our schools here.

It is exactly that reasoning that is a nightmare , how many teachers are killed each year ? Very very few,, the answer ,, attack every kid who draws a pic of a gun ? B/S.. We use to run around with play guns when I grew up and i guarantee as many teachers where threatened then and killed as there are now..This non-sense of protect the teachers oh my god help us please ..

What ever happened to free speech ,, ya can make pictures of the most outrageous sexual acts but a 9 year old draws a pic of a gun and holy cow he is threat and we need to protect the teachers ? What a sick way of thinking ,, again my point is made a very minute few actions dictate we treat all kids as if there criminals and dangerious to soceity because Liberal teachers say it is for there protection,,

Ya want protection , come to my city where 600 million goes to teachers pay roll and 88% of the kids drop out ,, ya 88% and we pay 600 million for this , teac the kids or separate the crap kids out with out us having to here we are raciest.. Do your jobs ..

Back when my youngest daughter (8 years at the time) was going to government school, she took her little Swiss Army knife to show it off. Not the mil-spec version, the cheap Chinese crap. Well the school called for me to come get her after a little panty-waste classmate ratted her out. They kicked my daughter out of school for a day, took the knife to turn over to the Sheriff.

Without knowing my daughter, you can not fully appreciate the comedic value of this situation.

Privately, I told the asst. principal that I was surprised that they still allowed the use of forks in the cafeteria and that sharpened pencils were not considered weapons. I also told her that in my household, knives were tools and their safe uses were encouraged just like hammers and screw drivers. I also told her (with the utmost decorum) that I was embarrassed for her to be in such a high position and have to demeaningly follow chicken dodo rules such as the board may adopt without regard to her experienced judgement.

The following year, at great sacrifice, both of our grade-school age daughters were enrolled in private school.

The sad fact is that the vast majority of "parents" just let the government schools do whatever the teacher's union tells them to do. The most dangerous problem facing this country is lack of responsibility of anybody for anything...

So called "Political Correctness" will be the end of us. I hope the liberal nuts that cause this are the first ones beheaded.

Back during my junior year in highschool, i was sitting in humanities class and the teacher was out of the room. A guy is sitting one row to the right of me and a very popular girl is sitting in front of him. The dude is a known coke head and short tempered. They are arguing back and forth and she finally says something to end the conversation and turns around to face the front.

The guy, luckily, was left handed.

After the girl turned around, he tried to swing at her, full tilt. I somehow, i guess through fast reflexes, managed to grab and pull his arm down. His hand hit the back of her chair and broke one of his fingers, just to give an idea of how hard he was planning on hitting her.

He jumps up and starts yelling at me. I of course, jump up and we meet face to face.

He takes a swing at me, miss. I take a swing at him, he is out cold on the floor.

Teacher comes in.

Campus security "arrests" me, they consider me a threat.

Without questioning the circumstances of what happened, i am suspended for 30 days.

The other guy gets 1 week. Apparantly my actions were unprovoked.

AAAAnyway, the girl was popular and was very upset that her protector was getting a raw deal. She started a petition and had something like 97% of the students sign in my defense.

The humanities teacher was also briefed on the events and was rather upset. He went as far as writing a letter to the editor of the local newspaper and put the issue in the public arena.

There was so much publicity, that the superintendent of schools repealed my suspension, fired the vice-principal who suspended me, and the city manager wrote me a commendation.

And to think, that whole series of events could of been avoided if the VP would of given me 5 minutes to explain.

When i was in 7th grade i was jumped by a gang at school. They said it was because i was the only caucasian person left in the gym therefore i was going to have to pay. Well one of them picked me up from behind when i was walking off. To make a long story short, 3 of them were laying on the floor bleeding and the other two ran off. Well of course i was suspended for 30 days and they were only suspended for 2 days. Apparently i was "racist and a threat to the well-being of other students." Needless to say my family was furious and they immediately came up there and took me out of the school. Now this year i'm finally a senior at the private school they put me in

Zero tolerance is the problem Jim. Teachers and administrators are asked to check their brains at the door. There is no allowance for judgment calls. Every situation is looked at as if it was a dot that needed connecting to lead to a Columbine massacre scenario. Lot of random dots out there that lead to nowhere.

My dot: When I was 10 you weren't supposed to have a knife at school. I was caught, the principal told me to come by his office after school. I did, at which time he gave me my knife and told me to leave it at home. I did.

Makes too much sense to work in today's world. When my son was a senior at the Science Academy, he and a friend took off out of the parking lot after school one day and actually spun their tires out of the gate... They got booted for 3 days for "racing" and my meeting with the school brass was like defending a terrorist that bombed a building. Those liberal nutcases actually wanted him to go to "anger counseling" because he spun the tires on his 4 cylinder "hot rod". All the while, other kids that got in trouble for fighting or gang type activity got a slap on the wrist and a few hours of after school classes...

These nuts are running our country?

hahaha...I use to draw guns, superheroes getting shot at, monsters, war scenes etc. Even in high school lol (This was before columbine). People consider me a decent artist too =\ maybe they never suspended me because my guns looked so good. :D

Man, we always used to have our pocket knives on us in school. The principal didn't care as long as they weren't seen. If he saw them, he took them up till the end of the day. If anyone got in a fight, both parties got suspension, but how much was based on the circumstances. Drugs were an immediate arrest. Those were the good 'ol days.

This whole thread makes me sick to my stomach and think WTF? I'm really glad I go to a very small public school, everybody here knows everyone and gets along fairly well. I did have one problem back in my Freshman year where I wore a "Guns 'n' Roses" T-shirt to class. The teacher threw a huge fit and sent me to the office only because it said Guns. The principal basically just rolled his eyes and shrugged it off. He just told me to turn it inside out for the rest of the day. :D
