Lower Transmission Line

Have an 07 sierra, 5.3, 4wd. I am adding a tran cooler and when & I removed the lower tran line from the radiator the

large disk attached to the nut also came off. It appeared that tranny fluid & coolant leaked out. Could coolant leak out from this connection and could I have done something wrong when removing the line from the radiator. What type/size fitting should go in the lower radiator to attach the hose to the tranny cooler.

You should have only removed the spring clip and pulled out the line. The fitting you removed holds the trans cooler in the rad tank and seals them together.

thanks, I removed the clip and put the fitting back in, no leakage so far.
