I loved the power programmer III's I had in my '99 & '04.

I had a power programmer III in my '07,but it disabled the AFM and I didn't want that,so I had to send it back and go with the Max-Energy.

The biggest difference between the two is the ability to update the Max-Energy online,it has a USB port,You can't do that with the PP III.

Well I plan on keeping this truck for another 8 years so maybe i need the updateable one.

Also with the Power Programmer 3 do you have to change the power settings to the economy/performance, or canyou leave that all stock and just change the speedometer and top speed.

Have you considered a custom tune? Not only could you have it tailored to your specific truck and needs (i.e., performance or economy) but they could also adjust the speedometer for your new tire size (which I think you mentioned in another thread).

If I were you I would get either a custom tune or the edge evolution. Right now I am trying to sell my evolution because I purchased efilive. The evolution wont give as much power as a custom tune, but is much more flexible. I also really like all the information that the evolution can give you while youre driving.
