I have the EZ Down and it works well. I think it makes the truck feel more refined. As a matter of fact, I have two. One of them is an extra (don't ask). If you, or anybody, would like to purchase it I'd cut you a deal. Just pm me.

btw: It is for the 2007 2008 NBS chevy or gmc. Part # 43101 and it is NEW.

EDIT: ITEM IS SOLD!

That's really Cool. I might consider getting a set of these. I just hazard to think of the day my son opens the gate and it could accidentally fall on him...

A half a set would be enough. One cylinder mounts on one side.

All of my trucks going back to a 1951 Studebaker have had the option of variable speed tailgate lowering and raising. Never saw a truck without it. If you're paying extra you're being ripped off. And to the wuss who talked about "refined" --- hey, it's a TRUCK, not a jewelry chest!

Huh??? Your truck in your sig doesn't have it unless you paid extra for it. ...and join the wuss club with your refined LTZ Silverado. :D

Cool! They had tail gate assist before the introduction of oil filters, turn signals, electric windshield wipers, automatic chokes, and cartridge air filters. And as standard equipment. :D

My guess is that his form of "variable speed tailgate lowering and raising" is hand-controlled. "You want to open it slow, you open it slow.. You want to close it fast, you close it fast.. with your hand." I could be wrong, though...

My Silverado has the EZ lift tailgate option but I would like to add something that stops the tailgate from dropping so fast. Has anyone put something like this on their tailgate?

Any recommendations would be appreciated.
