Toyota Problems!

Quote from the blog:

I just drove down to my dealer this afternoon, just to look around. I was amazed at the # of trucks already sitting there. I wish I had my camera. Some of the frames were cracked or completely rusted. One truck had a notice in the window that it was now the property of Toyota Motor Corp. I think this is going to be a huge problem for them. I can't imagine how much this is going to cost Toyota. So, maybe I'll get screwed for taking care of my truck (although it was welded last year in 4 spots, wouldn’t pass inspection), I wash it a lot in the winter. At the very least, the trucks trade in value just hit rock bottom. Who will want one now, even if the frame isn't so bad.

Pretty funny actually... BUT... we need to be careful about throwing stones in our glass house. Our GM trucks have had their fair share of GM GOOFS. I paid out of my pocket for one engine replacement because of the lovely intake manifold water leak... Point is that all manufacturers have issues.

It is kinda nice to see it happen to somebody other than GM though.

Clown it as you will... but we can't even get seat covers from GM... I'd sure be glad to be a Toyota owner and read that, even in the south with no salt.

Besides, unless you own a Toyota... who cares. :)

813,000?? wow thats a lot. Interesting how they say they will pay for the cost of repair or the cost of the truck. No matter what condition they will treat it as it is in excellent condion???? thats a pretty bold claim.

Based on my experiance with the seat covers I would say you would be lucky to hear that someone from GM was looking into it.....

edit: I probably only say this because I just finished vacuuming and lint rolling mine. What if we could combine our trucks with Toyotas ability to stand behind their product.

You mean like they did with the "Oil Sludge" issue??? And the weakass Tailgates, both on the Taco's and now the Tundra?

I am so sick of this "myth/BS" it makes me sick!!!

I wasn't commenting on toyatas general handling of warranty claims. I've never owned one. I'm sure they have dropped the ball plenty of times. Not jumping teams, this is my third GMC. In the 16 years I've been driving I have probably spent one without at least on GMC pickup in the stable.

I did start the post with "based on my experiance with the seat covers". It is the only time I have ever had a warranty issue. I love my truck, but have never been treated shittier as a customer. Doesn't mean I want a different truck, or think toyota is better. I'm just impressed they would step up to the plate like they did.
