Tranny Is Junk

I am usually the last one to admit or mention problems with GM trucks (since I am an owner), but my friend got a 08 Silverado about 2 months ago. Two weeks after he picked it up the trans was acting funny. He would try to accelerate and it would just rev. He would have to stop the truck, turn off/on (seemed to be resetting something) and it would be fine for a few more miles. To make a long story short; GM replaced the trans with ~800 miles with no questions asked. They didnt even want the techs to dig into the trans, just replace and return.

I mess with him and say that he should have chose "Professional Grade"

Yeah we have had a few cases with the GMT900 series having that issue....

Yeah we have had a few cases with the GMT900 series having that issue....

Sprage Gear??.....I have seen alot of Yukon's and Tahoe's with this issue happening at about 20-25K miles...

Well they said a couple of thing went wrong. The input housing assembly failer and meesed up the 3 and 4 disk. I did not get a rental till the dealer talked to GM and then they had my truck for one day once I picked up the rental car. They replaced the the parts and all is good for now. Funny how the work gets done once you are costing GM money with a rental car. It was not suppost to be done for 2 more days. If anything else comes from this I will post on teh thread.

GM HybridTwo-Mode 2M70 Automatic Transmission, built for GM and Dodge trucks, has anyone found a Service Manual for this transmission. Or any Technical information printed on this unit.

I have have been looking for two years, and have come up dry. Its like it is a classified document, stored in Roswell, NM...
