Another Site N00b

Hey all,

I picked up an 08 Z71 about 2 weeks ago and though i'd show it off since i finally had time to get a good picture of it

It's Dark Cherry Metallic, and that's the first picture i've taken of it that really shows off the color. It's pretty hard to catch it just right it seems. In the sun you really get that cherry color, but in the evening or when it's overcast, it's black. The samples of it on chevy's site really don't do it justice.

I just got it back from getting the bed rhino-lined. next up are:

Level kit (i'm going with the spacer above the spring mount. is any brand better than the others?)

Body color grill with billet bowtie (pisses me off that they don't offer DCM from the accessory catalogue, so i'm going to have to pay extra to get one painted)

Lorado no-snap roll-up tonneau

GMPP CAI

Magnaflow catback

HPtuner or LS1edit so i can program it.

20" rims. Probably American Racing Torque-Thrusts

I'm really pumped to have a truck again, i've been jonesing for one since i got rid of my 2000 ECSB LT back in 03. here's a pic of that one for kicks as well:

I put the tahoe grill and body color bumper cover on it with the goodmark cowl hood. Thought it turned out well.

If that would have been available for '07 thats the color I'd have!

The Rough Country leveling kit is probably the most popular kit with people here but it's the spacer that mounts on the control arm instead of above the strut. It's cheaper ($60) and easier to install. I would have done the Truxx kit (with the rear 1" lift) if I wanted above the strut but it's one of the more expensive kits.

Search for exhaust threads for people with AFM on the 5.3, you might decide to skip the exhaust until you have tuning that can disable AFM. Corsa is expensive but excellent (I have Magnaflow on my 99).

I think the Torq-thrust wheel would look great on your truck. Very classic look.

It does have a purplish tinge to it, but it's *very* dark red/maroon mostly when the light's hitting it.

Thanks for all the info. I've been seeing the comments about the drone when AFM is active. I wish someone could get a sound clip of it in the cab on the highway to see how bad it really is, as i don't know anyone that has one around here.

I have only seen this color in person a couple of times, and it is amazing. I love that color. If I were buying a NBS, that would definitely be the color to get.
