Not in the market for a Dodge truck I'll keep my Silverado, BUT if you were local dealer is 40% off all 08 Rams.

37K Bighorn Edition for 22K. The biggest discounts on Silverado's locally, about 25%.

Wow, that's quite a deal. The best GM has around here is $5k OR 0% for 72mos. I was looking at a new truck yesterday, but I'm really curious to see what GM will do next month. There are still quite a few '08 trucks on the lots around here.

Even if they are at 50% off, I don't think I would still buy a dodge.

Yeah,The local Dodge dealer here in town has theres marked $11 to $14 grand off sticker also....Funny how they've had the same trucks for almost a year!!

Fortunetly we've not had that hard a time moving our Chevy's & GMC's,Although we've had a few sitting on our lot for awhile.

Dodge's always have been cheaper than Chevy's,I remember back when I bought my '97 & '99 Silverado's,We were also a Dodge dealer back then (We sold the Dodge franchise in '02,Thank God!!) I could have bought a Dodge for $2-3 grand cheaper than my Chevy's.

Damn, Dodge is basically trying to give away their Rams. GM won't do that because they are still selling pretty good, well around here I still see people buying new Silverado, one reason why GM sells good is their quality and most Chevy's are more reliable than most Dodge trucks.

72 months free money is a HECK of a bargain. Last year when I bought mine, I got the 60mos Same as Cash.

As far as Dodge popping 40% off the sticker... check out the attachment. Dodge WAS 9th in overall sales Jan-Apr, then dropped off the globe.

Ford and GM, on the other hand, were 1 & 2, and slipped to 5th and 6th, overall. Although lower sales volumes, 5th and 6th, overall, is NOT BAD, given the fuel price trepidations. Only problem, GM and Ford's business plan assumed they would be 1, or 2, from here on out.... . Lot of eggs to be putting in one basket, I guess.

The oil buble is starting to recede a little (as many analysts predicted, as the price was in NO WAY based on market fundamentals). I heard on the news that AAA is expecting another $0.25 decline by Labor Day.

This means that around HERE, based on the $3.70 that i saw today, gas will be around $3.45 by Labor Day. This, of course, if oil holds its current price. I personally believe it will retreat more.

Be interesting to see if the full size truck sales rebound somewhat if gas settles in in the low $3s per gallon.

This attachment is from the September 2008, Automoblile Magazine I just got. The accompanying article is an interesting one, BTW, as well (page 14).

EDIT: Stopped by my small town GMC/Pontiac/Cadillac dealer the other day. THEIR truck sales are running 2% OVER the same period LAST YEAR....

Again, relatively small volume dealer -- NOT a mega dealer.

It's funny that it is always the F-150 that outsells Silverado, but around here they majority of truck are Silverados. If they combined Sierra & Silverado sales GM Trucks would be the number 1 selling truck in the whole country.

Yep,I've always said the same thing...GM has always outsold Fold when you combine Chevy & GMC together.

But they look at Chevy & GMC as two separate nameplates, even though there sold by the same manufacturer.

One local Chevy store advertised a Crewcab for 8100 off this week. I don't know how it was equipped. Lots are bulging at the seams. Most dealerships around here (regardless of make) are using an off-site storage lot to park excess truck and SUV inventory on.

This sucks!

If they drop 8000 dollars of a crew cab, it must be a baser model truck though. But right now is a good time to buy a truck, with all these discounts.

Yeah, that true bro I'm thinking about trading in my V-Max for the 2010 Camaro SS but they probably aren't going to give me a good trade in value. So, if they don't give me a good trade in for my V-Max I'll try to keep it and also get the 2010 Camaro SS.

I also have a feeling that dealers are going to want a "premium" for the new Camaro's for awhile,You know...Like ask $5-10 grand "over" sticker for them!!!

I can't wait until we get our first one to see what they do,If they mark it up I'll make my feelings known that I don't think its right to do so....Of course then I might be lookin' for a job
