Gauges

I started to put this in the light duty section but wasn't sure about it since it car related and not truck related.

Anyway, in an earlier post I mentioned doing some work on the instument cluster in my wifes '88 Beretta.  Part of what I had to to involved taking the needles off the gauges.  I marked where they were pointing before I removed them so i could put them back on in the same place.  Is there a better way of making sure they are pointing were they should be?  How do all you guys do it when you put those white faced gauges on?  Is there something in the instructions that covers this?

Thanks.

Hmmm....I though most gauges had a keyway or other means of alignment so that you couldn't accidentally put in wrong...I guess not on the Beretta...

Marking it sounds like a good idea, though.

find out who makes the white gauges and serch the web site.  There is bound to be some kind of instructions on them.  Or try calling the Chevy house.  Sometimes you can get a nice tech that will tell you how to do it.  Like I said sometimes.  I would call my brother but he got fired friday (for going to the dentist on tuesday for a tooth ache) he worked at a chevy dealership as a service advisor and he could find out.
