Jim GMC Posted September 20, 2008 Posted September 20, 2008 I have a 99 Sierra and when I come to a slow stop the ABS always kicks in. It makes it much harder to stop when it kicks in so I want to take out the fuse until I get it fixed, I just don't know which one it is.

Check your underhood fuse panel....mine has a 60A fuse labeled ABS that powers up the Electronic Brake Control Module there.
pontiac69 Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 will the check engine light come on if i remove this fuse?
jackyshaikh Posted October 21, 2008 Posted October 21, 2008 Hi jim I took my 99 Sierra to the dealer for the same problem. Picked it up a few hrs later and it was fixed for free. You should take back your truck to dealer, removing fuse is not the solution of your problem,it will only deactivate ABS system completely. the choice is yours.
silveradowes Posted January 26, 2009 Posted January 26, 2009 so what is the problem then? Anyone know i am having the same problem with the same truck.Read that the wheel sensors and abs sensors need to be cleaned? Anyone done this with it solving the problem Im going to pull fuse today and i will not take it to a GM dealer too dishonest and too much per HR. Just want to know the fix for this, i called GM no recall on brakes.
