 Tool Box that is. :dunno:

Seeing how a lot of folks on this site work on there own vehicle(s) I am surprised this has not come up more often. Tools. What brand(s) do you use? And why?

I mostly have craftsman stuff (love the warranty), some dewalt (freebies), husky (I was desperate), stanley, and of course a batch of no names. What about you? What do you prefer? Whats in your toolbox?

Well my old truck in that box I have mainly Snapon and Craftsman tools... But I have Dewalt 14.4XRP set and Dewalt Reciprocating saw, Grinder, and Dewalt 18v cordless impact... I have an off brand digital read torque wrench.. I need to get a bigger/deeper truck box for the new truck... Ohh and I keep about 4 sets of chains in the back of my truck and 4 binders... Tow strap and 2500lb winch that goes into a receiver that is universal for the car trailers...

A mixture of Snap-On, Blue Point, and Craftsman. Of course there are some randoms in there but these 3 make up the majority.

All Milwaukee hand held power tools.

Wow, didnt know they where still around. We used to have a distributer in the town where I grew up. They closed down when I was a kid and I havent heard of their tools since. How do they hold up? Are they still quality? Or where they "improved" so the break more like a lot of other companies did?

For the wrenches and sockets.....ALL Craftsman

Mostly Craftsman for most other tools, with others mixed in.

DeWalt Power tools, Delta Table saw (though that don't actually fit in the toolbox  ).

An assortment of Snap-on, Matco, Cornwell, Craftsman, and a lot of special tools fro Klein, Fluke, etc. I just bought a new box last weekend! WOO HOO! (Mrs Clown actually bought it for me)

S&K

S&K makes some pretty good stuff. I also have a Kobalt socket set that is pretty nice. Somebody tells me that S&K makes Kobalt. Anybody know?

Well, I just cleaned out my tool box, so not nearly as much. Used to have Dewalt circular saw, big little tool box full of assorted building materials, Rotozip, a Craftsman skill saw...Still have 3 different sizes of assorted sockets, jumper cables, Dewalt drill, 3 different cases of drill accessories, a claw hammer, a 2 lb sledge and a big sledge hammers, a couple of chains, enough electric parts to repair just about anything that could break, assorted screwdrivers, pliers, crescents, a pipe wrench, a shovel (not actually in the box), motor oil, antifreeze, enough tie downs to keep a Macy's parade grounded, and probably a bunch of other stuff I don't really need but don't wanna take out.

Yep, I think I'm prepared.

Oh, and a machete, a hatchet, a little hand saw, 20' of steel cable. I think thats all the good stuff.

Yep, definitely still around. My experience with them is great, i've got a reciprocating saw that i've beat the ever living PISS out of for years. Compound miter saw's been good so far, but i don't have a lot of time with it yet. I just used my circular saw with a masonry blade to cut some 4" thick asphalt last week...not really a recommended use, but it handled it no sweat. Of course, they aren't built out of solid steel the way they used to be, but they're definitely rugged.

:dunno: Damn....... I thought I had a lot of stuff. All you need is a toilet, a mini fridge and some condoms and you would never have to leave the truck.

Sweet. Thats nice to here they are still around. Kind of disappointed they stopped making the cases out of steel. That was one of the reasons people bought them. You couldnt kill them.
