Emergency Help Needed

my water pump on my 88 c 1500 4.3 failed. so i got a new one i did ever thign by instructions but as you look at engine the rigth side is leaking . how do i fix this or what did i do wrong . will silicone around the pump were its leaking help

I would do it all over again with new gaskets and orange permatex. I'm pretty sure I used orange when I replaced my water pump. Make sure you get all the old crap off before installing.

Hate to say it but it sounds like you left some of the old gasket on the block. It's hard to get it all off but it is a must. A do-over is the only fix.

Start with a new crate motor. There should be no gasket material on there to get in your way.
