4" Or 6" Lift For My 08 Sierra

I decided to just lift my truck, after days of reading forums and looking at sites Im no closer to making up my mind as when I started

Im either going with a 4" with 33 on 17" rims or going with a 6" with 35 on a 18" rim. which brand of lift would be better for my truck I dont want to do any cutting and how much rougher of a ride is the 6" or 4"

i would go with the 6" with 35's on 18's. I am partial to the 6" though lol. I can vouge for if you get the Superlift it will have a great ride.

thats the one I was thinking about going with I found one for around $1500 so the ride is still smooth with that

I'm partial to the 6" lift as well . I didn't want to be looked down upon from the many folks here in the south! It's certainly worth it...not many notice a 4"...many notice the 6"!

most of the 4" lifts cost just as much as the 6" lifts so I'd say go with a 6" lift. as far as brands, as always my first recommendation is the BDS 6" suspension lift due to it's quality and no fine print lifetime warranty and awesome customer service.

 

Even with a 6" lift you may still want to stick with 17" rims just because the tires are alot cheaper than going up in rim size. I went with 20" rims on my 35" tires which looks great but the tires alone set me back about $1500. I could have gotten a set of aftermarket chrome 17" wheels and the 35" tires for what I paid just for the tires to go on the 20's. It's something to think about.

If going for 6" I would do the BDS or Superlift. Procomp isn't a bad kit either, but I have heard more +'s on the BDS and Superlift. I went with the Fabtech kit as it sits a couple inches higher and is about the same price. Very true on the wheel size. I wanted 17's but the wheels I wanted were not in stock. I was talked into another wheel, but they only had them in 18's at the time. They had a great deal going so I got them. Then when I went back for tires in 18, they were 120 more each... Good luck!!!

The longer coilovers would be better, but if you aren't going to be off-road a lot of the time, if at all, the spacer is fine.

Just have to trim the plastic on the air dam a bit because the tire lugs catch on full turns mostly in reverse.

just a tiny bit of trimming for the 35's and definately get the replacement coil bodys

You could remove the air dam and trim the valence. I did that to mine which rubbed with a 6" lift, stock wheels and 33" tires.
