Just like the title says. I have an 07 NBS Sierra and I need some tires. My truck has 17" wheels from the factory. I would like to have some nice aftermarket wheels/tires, but might just put some new tires on. I drive my truck on the highway alot and want a good ride, but want the tires to last and have a good look. I dont want a real skinny look since the truck is a z71. Any info and pics are nice. 265/70/17 is current size. Thanks in advance.

Did alot of research the last couple tire changes. Had BFG TA KO's, had Toyo Open Country AT's, my current set are Goodyear Wrangler Silent Armor "Pro-grade". When buying tires for my GM full size trucks I have always upsized to LT285/70R17/D and have been happy even keeping the factory rim's.

I would recommend the BFG all terrains. They ride great and have great traction. They look pretty good too. I use them as winter tires. I would tell you to get the tires I have on mine but not good for a lot of highway riding. I have 295's on mine with aftermarket rims. Also check out the Nitto tera Grappler, heard a lot of good things about those. As far as width goes, on the stock rim I wouldnt go any larger than a 285/70

Same tires as on my truck and I've been researching them a fair bit.

These things can get a little confusing with different ways of labelling load range and rated speed.

The 265/70/17's 113S are pretty much a 4 ply tire.

One thing I've noticed is that most if not all 4 ply tires do not have as deep of a tread as 6ply(load range C) or 10 ply(load range E).

Difference is about 2-3/32" or 2-3mm.It is quite noticable when you get two identical type tires(except a 4 ply and 6/10 ply) side by side.

Me I want a little more off-road ability so in all likelihood the BFG KO in 6 ply is what is gonna go on the truck cause it does have the deeper tread.Maybe it makes no difference......

The Nitto Terra Grapplers,Toyo Open Country AT's are other tires I am considering. Not really heard anything bad about them!!

my father got nearly 50,000 miles out of his bridgestone dueler A/T's and they are under the weight of a 2500hd, d-max, crew cab, long bed. trucks don't get much heavier than that, and on top of that, they look great too

I put BFG long trail radials on my old 95 nissan pickup and loved them. They did great in snow(2wd too) and had good traction in the wet.

My 02 sierra has them on it as well and the tires have about 50-60k miles on them. I'm looking for replacements now but they may not make those tires in certain sizes anymore.... ?

Cooper Zeon LTZs FTW. You can get a set of 275/55-20 for $160 from Discounttire which is way cheaper than most all terrain tires out there and i love em so far. Nice and quiet and handling is great!

I would recommend the BFG at ko's in 285/70/17 size. That is what I have on my truck. Or the nitto terra grapplers or the cooper zeon ltz's are good choice also.

Here are a couple pics of my set up with stock rims.

Great tire for the money. Revo's too. BFG A/Ts are extremely over-rated IMO. Yes, I have personal experience running them.

I have BFG AT on mine (285) I love them and they give the aggressive look a Z71 should have

I ran BFG KO's for awhile on my TJ and they are a great AT tire. Probably yhe best and undoubtedly look the best of all the AT's. Rotated and proper air psi should easily net 30K+ miles on a 1/2 ton. I will be going with them in 285's along with a 2" level when I need new tires.

I do like the stock Firestone Transforce's that came on my truck. They are quiet, wearing awesome and handle fine in all conditions so far.

07blackz71, Truck looks awesome! Love the black and that stance.

30K??? Are you kidding me??? I put them on my 2000 GMC Sierra Z71 when it had 55K miles on it back in 2003 and when I sold it to my brother in Mar of 2007 with 90K+ on it (35K on the tires) they still looked brand new. He now has about 110K on the truck (55K on the tires) and they still look really good. I did rotate them every year (about every 10-12K miles) and I believe he does too.

i literally just got a set of goodyear wrangler TD's on my truck today. first impression of the tire is good. i got 265 75 16's (6 ply) and they measure a little over 31 tall. drove with them today and i like em. you can definately hear a hum from the tire, but it's no more than my old BFG's. look the goodyears up, i paid 150 a tire for them, mounted and balanced. good luck in your search
