Dealer Survey

I just bought a Silverado a little while back. I got this dealer survey. The dealership has been calling to push to give them good scores. They even said "a less than good score will cost your salesman the second part of his pay". Well, I wasn't completely satisfied. I had to answer truthfully that they did not offer tour of service dept, or explain many features or offer a ride after delivery. The truck had a rear end shake. They said it was the high performance tires etc. What it turned out to be (discovered a few days later) was some certain clips had to be removed from the brakes with the 20 inch wheels and diff tires etc. So said the tire specialist. They also called my bank so many times (they had to wait for the cashier's check to be cut) that the bank officer called me and asked me to please have them stop calling.

Would you give these clowns a good score?

No, if you want to fill it out, do it honestly. Don't give in to those idiots at the dealership. If they are giving bad service, don't feel bad giving bad scores.

I got one of those surveys when I bought my truck too but I never filled that bullshit out :D

haha... Wow this just made me remember them asking me to fill out mine when I got it... I guess the next time I see them I will just say: survey?? :D what you are talking about... Never got one!!! :D

Giving them a fake good score does nothing to promote good service. All that would do is allow them to continue giving poor service and getting away with it. I say be honest and tell it like it actually was.

Is there an echo in here? :D

mine was cool man, everytime I have had a dealership service visit, I have gotten a survey and I can honestly fill it out as completely satisfied. I cant bitch about anything from the dealership. they have always done good things for me and have always told me when something was up...if they didnt do that, I would have given them an F on every survey I received

My dealership was the same way. PLUS, they'd offer free oil changes if I filled it out giving them kudos across the board.

I said "then you better treat me like I was royalty, and you better treat my Trailblazer like it was your preacher's car and your mom was watching you tinker with it while Jesus sat in the passenger seat".

The guy looked at me like I had a third eyeball.

give em the just the marks they earned.

My salesman back in 05 sat at his desk and asked me right in front of him, that "we request that you give us excellent marks on the dealer survey" I was suprised! They did a good job though and I gave em their marks.

Now a seperate dealer that screwed me around with a muffler rattling problem got f))ked on their survey!!

Ditto. Have a service writer that has been with the dealership 18 years and I have known for most of that time and he always gives it to me straight. Always worth filling out the surveys for the honesty :D

I ripped the dealer I bought my new truck from on the survey. They sucked. They happened to have the truck I wanted (which was hard to find) at the price I wanted. But the service sucked. I truly felt like I was in a used car dealership when I was there. I couldn't count on them to call me back and I had to go back multiple times for things they forgot to do.

They are no longer my dealer and I tell everyone I get a chance to, go somewhere else.

So, as stated before, give them the marks you think they deserve.

Absolutely NOT. Now, here is what I WOULD do, or what you COULD do. Call the dealer, ask to speak with the owner. Tell him you are holding the survey in your hands, and that you weren't COMPLETELY satisfied. Tell him you are willing to allow them to make it right. Write down a list of issues (that you kinda outlined above). Make sure the list is factual. Tell them exactly WHY you weren't satisfied.

Have some fun.

Ask him whether HE would answer "completely satisfied", given what you just outlined. Ask him what he may be willing to do to get your survey to perfect scores.

I know there is a LOT of pressure for them to get good scores. I mean, don't be a TOTAL _____, but let him know that they have "room for improvement". Youy may get a good price on an accessory you may like out of it.

Personally, if those yay-hoos were pestering MY bank like what you describe, and I found out, I would have told them to shove it, and found a truck at a competing dealer. I mean, it isn't exactly a SELLER'S market right now. Unbelievable.

Also, what do I care whether the salesman gets his "other half of his pay".. I'd tell them that's between the salesman and the owner, and has nothing to do with me. IF the salesman doesn't like it, get another job. Don't try to guilt me into a good survey with a sympathy trip after YOU GUYS gave me a bad experience.

Just my $0.02.

Sad truth is that the car companies do reward the dealerships and the salesmen for perfect scores. Generally, its all or nothing. They do get bonuses (hold back, whatever) based on these scores. This doesn't mean give them a score they don't deserve, but I would give them a little benefit of the doubt. If they were worth 9s, I would probably give them 10s. If they were worth 7s, they get 7s.
