2001 Gmc Power Window

How complicated is it to change out the power window motor? I was rolling up my window on my 2001 GMC and at about 3 inches from top something made a popping noise and the window stopped, I tried to roll it back down, but it oly moves about 1-1/2" up or down. I took off the door panel and manual raise the window shut, but not sure about how the motor and what looks like a pulley system with cables work??

Same thing happened to my Suburban, the cable was frayed. Pretty easy to replace the whole assembly. Tape the glass in the up position, loosen the clamps on the glass, remove the mounting bolts and wiggle the whole assembly out.

I took the motor off the old one and saved it. I used it when a rear motor went out a few months later.

+1, it is acually way easier then you think. Like less then a hour total!
