Ok, so some of you may have seen my threads over the past few weeks preparing for my stero installation., I started Thursday afternoon, finalized everything yesterday morning. Gotta say overall I am happy with how everything went. Very time consuming because I was pretty particular on how I wanted everything to go and fit. Quick run down of all of the components used for the install.

Pioneer F90BT Navi HU

Pioneer XM module

PeSWIPS (steering wheel control harness)

GMAHLAN (main interface to retain onstar, door chimes and use an aftermarket HU)

GMLNAV (gives you some of the wiring you need for nav and camera more easily located)

4 Polk DB 6.5s one for each door obviously

Infinity 5 channel amp

Boyo VTK350 camera

GM 09 Silverado tailgate bezel with backup camera mount

3 sets of RCAs

50 ft of speaker wire

I am probably forgetting some stuff... it sounds really good. The Nav works pretty good. I will need to do some of the hacks from avic411.com but am overall happy with it. bluetooth works good with my phone, Ipod works (except for video portion). I'm on my way to wash the truck now, but will throw up a few pics. If you are considering it, be prepared for it! We had our moments on certain things! I'll get some more install details later, enjoy the pics..

Looks good, is there a trim ring you can put around the radio, looks like a decent size gap on the sides judging by the pics is the only thing.

It's not for fog lights.

1 Question. How do you like that amp so far? I can get it through, vendor accommodations at work for really cheap. But we actually don't carry it in the store. So I've never had the chance to install one. I planning on doing a whole new system in my '05, but I may wait and see if I can get the new Kappa series 5 channel through our accommodations. When its all said and done I'll have Infinity Kappa series 6.5's in the front doors 4x6 plates in the rear and a Kappa 12 inch sub. but I've been debating on the amp(s).

Yes there is a gap around the radio. that doesn't bother me as much as the metra kit having the gap in the corners on top. That's what annoys me. The radio gap is even around and is fine for me, it's too thin of a gap for at rim ring to fit (most radio trim rings are way bigger than that). If that's not a harness for fogs, any idea what it might be for? I really like the amp, I have had it for awhile now. It has served me well

looks good to me! i have a 700bt installed and i bought the same camera and bezel as you (im assuming the other thread was yours aswell about it) where did you get the reverse wire from?

Posted

I have the camera powered when the truck is on. The reverse wire for the camera is from the GMLNAV interface. You tape one wire in to the truck's wiring it provides you wth a few wires you need like the reverse signal and the VSS for the Nav..

Looks Great...I ordered the same camera you did along with the Tailgate Bezel....what kind of wire did you use to run from the Camera to the Truck....mine is a Co-Ax Cable, however I am wondering if RCA might be better....I get a little interference from my HID's at night...so while I was working on the truck with the new camera, I figured I would run some new wire instead of the Co-Ax, hoping it would help....

The Wiring Harness behind that pocket is where the Stabilitrak, Heated Fluid, Power Pedals, and Backup Sensors go...I'm wondering if maybe your truck doesn't have the wiring provisions for something....

I ordered a 25 ft RCA off Ebay for 7 dollars shipped? Python brand I think? Actually seems like a decent cable! I thouht it would be a bit long, length was perfect though! nightvision with the cam is OK.. it's pretty grainy but functional. I took a pic of that wire harness. I will post that pic up. see if anyone can help figure out what I can add to the truck! Thanks for the kind words everyone. Brian

Holy wiring Batman!

Good install :D

Lots of the trucks have this harness mine included but nobody has determined which option it is for.

How did your door chimes work out?

Did you retain factory tweeters?
