in the long process of changing wheels and tires, It seems the TPMS is the source of some annoyance.

 

Is there a simple way to disconnect the monitoring system (temporarily)?

Don't believe so. But just in case, do a search here and see if someone has come up with a way to disable it. Of course, it is government mandated, so it's not going to be easy if it's even possible.

i had my TPMS' swapped from one wheel to another (both OEM wheels however). are you getting aftermarket wheels that won't accept the sensors?

 

i read somewhere about a guy that had the tire shop duct tape all four of his sensors to the inside of the wheel on his spare tire. that supposedly worked but it sounds pretty damn hokey, and i read it on the net somewhere so take it for what it's worth.

There was a thread on another forum that explained how to do this. It was awhile ago so I don't remember where I read it
