Due to the attacks, NASCAR has made new restrictions for fans @ all racetracks that will affect a good majority of Race goers.

1. NO COOLERS!

2. All Bags (fanny packs, etc.) will be checked upon entering grandstands.

3. (possibility, but not mandated yet) All souvenirs are not allowed in the grandstands.(but that's just something they're talking about, not a rule yet).

It probably won't go over too well, but if that is what they have to do then thay have to do it.  I figured it was coming, since MLB and the NFL already put those rules in place.  They could ban all bags together, the other sports did, we're lucky we can still take bags and they're just checking them.  Ture, it will be a big inconvience for most of us, but lets just be glad we can go to a race.  There are many people who will never enjoy another race after last week.

No coolers, no problem for us.

November 28, and its near freezing anyway in NH. LOL

Man, that's a bummer. I understand the reasoning behind it and I guess the tracks and NASCAR simply do not have the manpower and/or time to search all the coolers. But for two people attending a race, getting 2 burgers and 2 cokes just added $20 to their day's expense. The drinkers (like me) are in big trouble. I'm not paying $60  for a 12-pack.

Ticket prices will have to come down. I think that rule will keep a lot of folks in front of the TV.

By the way General,  where did you get this info.  I was looking for it to print off for my dad because he doesn't have a computer and I couldn't find it.  I only found it for this week, not for all tracks.  Any help would be appreciated.

I've heard that Dover plans to reduce concession prices because of this new requirement.  I agree that if this is going to be a permanent deal, the ticket prices need to go down as well.  Its a stretch for some people to just get a ticket for the race and pay to stay in the motels around the track for two or three days.  They won't be happy having to pay to eat, or drink, at the track.....

LMAO!  You guys could just stick your drinks in the snow to keep them cold....

But seriously, the track at Kansas City wasn't going to allow coolers in the track this year.  But when the trucks were there this summer, the temperatures were upwards of 110F.  The decided to let people bring in small coolers.  I couldn't imagine not being able to bring in your own water in a situation like this.

According to the Local News Sportsperson, it's for all the tracks.

NASCAR.com says it is un-known how long these restrictions will be in place.

I just posted what I was told by my local news Sortscaster....

Hey General, no worries here.

I just hope it is temporary. Might need to change plans for Daytona, Michigan, Chicago and Indy next year!

I'm just tired of being told things that are not true by the news ppl. (this past week makes a good example) but that's all i'm gonna say about that here..........
